Job Description
The Supreme Court of Nevada is seeking a Business Systems Support Specialist to join our team and help support the technology and business systems used throughout Nevada’s courts. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys solving problems, helping others, and learning new technology while contributing to the work of Nevada’s judicial system.
In this role, you will serve as an important resource for court users, providing responsive technical and application support by phone and email. You will troubleshoot system issues, resolve service requests, assist users with court business processes, provide application training, and help ensure court systems operate effectively. The position also supports database monitoring, system maintenance, documentation, and a variety of technology projects and initiatives.
This position can be based in either Carson City or Las Vegas. Following an initial training period, there may be an opportunity for a hybrid remote/in-office work schedule.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage user accounts, including adding, modifying, deleting, and resolving issues related to usernames, passwords, and permissions.
- Perform data entry to establish new partners, configure codes, or correct data discrepancies.
- Assist in creating and updating user documentation and training materials.
- Provide Tier 1 support for user requests, including initial diagnosis, ticket logging, and resolution of basic issues; escalate more complex issues to Tier 2 support.
- Review system logs and configuration files to identify and troubleshoot issues.
- Support remote users by diagnosing and resolving issues with geographically dispersed systems.
- Collaborate with IT personnel for routine and emergency maintenance on enterprise systems and software updates.
- Offer feedback to improve IT policies, procedures, and workflows.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent, with experience in customer service or a help desk setting.
- Basic computer skills and strong communication abilities, both verbal and written.
- Ability and eagerness to quickly learn new technological skills.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Team collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a help desk environment and familiarity with software configuration, testing, and support.
- Prior experience in court or criminal justice settings is a plus.
If this position is approved for remote/hybrid work, the incumbent is required to work a minimum of 40 hours in the office per pay period, in accordance with a supervisor-approved schedule. The remaining work hours are eligible to be performed remotely in accordance with operational needs and applicable remote-work policies. The incumbent must be able to work effectively and collaborate with employees while working remotely. The individual must be proficient in virtual meeting platforms such as Microsoft Teams and be able to perform all duties through a reliable internet connection provided by the employee. The internet connection must be sufficient to support all job functions, with a minimum download speed of 50–100 Mbps. Higher speeds may be necessary if the connection is shared with other members of the household.
