Job Description
Job Summary
The Assistant Vice President - Tax Credit Investments, Deal Origination supports the sourcing, evaluation, structuring, and execution of renewable energy tax credit transactions. Working closely with the VP - Tax Credit Investments, Deal Origination and EVP of Tax Credit Investments, this role helps manage supplier-side transaction pipelines, coordinates due diligence efforts, supports sponsor and advisor relationships, and assists in driving transactions from initial evaluation through closing.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Support the sourcing, evaluation, and execution of tax credit transactions, with a primary focus on tax credit transfer transactions.
• Assist in managing relationships with renewable energy developers, sponsors, advisors, and other transaction counterparties.
• Review financial, commercial, legal, tax, and technical diligence materials related to prospective transactions.
• Coordinate internal and external diligence workstreams to lead transaction execution and closing.
• Prepare transaction documents, investment memoranda, presentations, and other materials for management and investor review.
• Lead transaction preparation, structuring, pricing analysis, financial modeling and serve as the primary lead on deal closings with help from an assigned Associate.
• Monitor transaction pipelines, maintain reporting, and communicate status updates to internal stakeholders.
• Identify opportunities to improve transaction processes, reporting, and operational efficiency.
• Serve as the TCI leader in credit transfer transactions and keep the team and company on the forefront of the market and policy.
• Support broader Tax Credit Investment initiatives and special projects.
• Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education, Skills and Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field preferred. An equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a college degree.
• Four or more years of experience in renewable energy finance, project finance, tax credits, investment banking, corporate finance, or a related field.
• Direct experience in leading or supporting closing tax credit transfer transactions. Advanced financial modeling (including DCF) and analytical skills, persistent attention to detail.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to successfully assign and manage workflows in pursuit of achieving critical deadlines.
• Advanced MS Excel experience and proficiency with other MS Office products, including PowerPoint, Word and CoPilot.
• Proven competency with other Ai and automation software such as Monday.com and Anthropic/Claude a plus.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Self-starter with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
