Position Overview
The Fleet Coordinator is responsible for providing fleet management support in all aspects of the asset lifecycle including vehicle acquisition, maintenance, and disposal. Works closely with fleet management, vendor partners, and Pavement Recycling System personnel to establish best practices and develop enabling tools, programs, and training to bring standardization, best value, and lowest Total Cost of Ownership.
Primary Responsibilities
- Manages the process of in-fleeting and de-fleeting vehicles, including PRSI branding preparation and installation of PRSI proprietary access/security system
- Ensures the upkeep, maintenance, repair, and cleanliness of the market area
- Monitor vendor performance on weekly tasks to maximize vehicle condition and uptime and minimize costs
- Manages vendor service contracts to ensure vehicles are properly maintained, repaired, and cleaned to meet company standards
- Works within a budget while maintaining excellent fleet condition and minimizing vehicle downtime
- Assigns daily tasks to drivers/operators or mechanics, as needed
- Oversees fleet-related customer service issues as conveyed by member services
- Monitors rates and maintains relationships with car service vendors
- Identifies big picture trends, issues, and recommends solutions to expand and improve the company’s fleet
- Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Requires knowledge of budget analysis techniques, leading fleet maintenance practices, and applicable legislation and regulations
- Must have strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with ability to interpret and understand ambiguous questions and information
- Ability to work both independently and in a collaborative team-oriented environment
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills and Strong customer service skills to maintain productive working relationships with all company personnel, user groups, and outside vendors
- Must be well organized to meet heavy workloads and be able to effectively manage multiple tasks
- Requires experience with various computer software programs (e.g. Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Dynamics 365 or other) for managing fleet management activities
- Knowledge of fleet operations with an emphasis on the core NAFA (National Association of Fleet Administration) fleet management principles including asset, business, financial, maintenance, construction and/or heavy construction risk and fuel management
- Must demonstrate strong ethics, interpersonal skills and engage in continuous learning
- Ability to effectively perform in a high-volume environment and meet tight deadlines
Education and/or Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Knowledge of construction and/or heavy construction equipment is preferred
- Must have proficient business written and oral communication skills and effective listening skills
- Must speak and write English fluently
- 1-3 years or more of experience in a maintenance operations or fleet administrative environment is preferred
