About This Position
With leadership from the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Health (D-HH) System Chief Human Resources Officer and Cheshire Medical Center/Dartmouth-Hitchcock Chief Operating Officer, the Director of Human Resources (HR) is responsible and accountable for the development of Cheshire Medical Center/Dartmouth-Hitchcock's human capital to support the long-term growth and success of the organization. The Director serves as a key member of the Cheshire Medical Center/Dartmouth-Hitchcock Senior Leadership team, aligning HR strategy with business objectives, culture and values of the organization. Partners with management to develop and implement strategies that build a talented and exceptional workforce supporting organizational alignment and a positive work climate. Leads talent management, organizational effectiveness/design, compensation/rewards and efforts to retain and recruit qualified talent. Leads the administration of human resource policies, procedures and programs that support business goals and strategies across the organization. As a member of D-HH HR leadership team, the Director serves as a strong partner to local business leaders on people-related strategies and implementation of system-wide objectives, integrated employee programs, pathways and talent management services. The Director will independently lead the local HR staff and day-to-day functions; including providing regular performance feedback and translating findings into priorities for continuous and breakthrough improvement. Along with colleagues, champions high-reliability process design, innovation and a culture of service excellence. Demonstrates leadership in service to the mission, values and the Cheshire Medical Center/Dartmouth-Hitchcock and D-HH strategic plans and works collaboratively with physicians, administration, colleagues and staff to achieve related goals. Master's Degree preferred; 10 years of experience in human resources, leadership, management and consultative skills required. A background in health related services required. Preferred: Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) – CP or SCP or Human Resource Certification Institute (HRCI) SPHR or PHR. Must possess a demonstrated ability to lead people and achieve results through others. Experience in implementation of initiatives and budget management required. Experience with Human Capital technology required. Strong customer service orientation needed. Demonstrated ability to function independently. Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and concisely both verbally and in writing with individuals and groups at various levels and various disciplines. Strong skills with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) required.
