About This Position

Monarch Investment and Management Group (MIMG) is actively seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to join our growing HR team in Grand Rapids, MI!

This role supports accurate and efficient payroll processing for Monarch employees each pay period. Performs a variety of administrative and office tasks under the direction of the Payroll Manager, requiring detailed knowledge of the payroll process.

The Payroll Specialist will office at our home location at 920 Cherry Street, Grand Rapids, MI.

- $27.00 - $32.00 an hour

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
• Audit data sent to payroll ensuring actual paid is correct for all payroll deductions
• Prepare, Audit, and Reconcile pay deductions for payroll processing
• Audits all property-to-property adjustments after payroll run and reconciles accordingly
• Supports Accounting as needed on payroll-related discrepancies
• Complete Off Cycle payroll adjustments and process special pay runs
• Organizes and reconciles monthly Commission Bonus and quarterly bonus files and 401K files.
• Assist in monitoring the Time and Attendance System to ensure clocking errors are resolved
• Complete various employee-related scheduled and ad hoc data reconciliation processes
• Works as a team to ultimately deliver on all objectives and tasks as needed

Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience as a Payroll Specialist or in a related role
- Strong Excel skills
- Experience with UKG payroll processing preferred
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Strong problem-solving abilities
- Proactive approach to identifying and resolving potential obstacles
- Excellent communication skills for frequent interaction with internal and external teams
