About This Position
Position Description: Come join our award-winning team! Syndeo Outsourcing is currently in search of a Payroll Specialist for our headquarters office located in Wichita, KS. The payroll teams primary goal is to build and strengthen the trust between employers and employees, one paycheck at a time - On time, every time. The payroll team processes all things payroll, from ensuring its accurate calculation to assisting in its implementation to delivery if needed. Job responsibilities include:
Processing multi-state payrolls
Prepare, process and audit payroll and billing adjustments
Set-up, audit, and resolve direct deposit payments, rejections, and reversals
Process voids, reissues, and manual checks
Receive, research and determine/communicate actions on general inquiries from clients and worksite employees
Process and respond to wage garnishments and payroll deductions
Entering payroll changes (i.e. pay changes, status changes, terminations, etc.)
Processing both manual and electronic time files
Communicating with clients and employees regarding payroll issues and responding to inquiries via phone and e-mail
Participate in and support various projects, as requested
Partner with a client service team to ensure company policies and processes are followed
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills/qualifications:
Bachelors Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or related field preferred
Strong accounting background or payroll certifications preferred
Strong technical skills
Basic proficiency in Microsoft applications
Ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
Excellent data entry accuracy and attention to detail
Strong customer service and communication skills
Works independently, and with others, and prioritizes work
Ability to demonstrate basic problem-solving skills
One year experience with payroll preferred
