About This Position

The Associate Chief Nursing Officer (ACNO) will play a pivotal role in supporting the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) in strategic and operational initiatives aimed at enhancing workforce development, ensuring high-quality clinical outcomes, and overseeing efficient care delivery. This position requires a blend of leadership and clinical expertise to drive excellence in patient care. This ACNO role will be integral supporting Nursing initiatives and programs that align with the organizations strategic plan and works directly with department leadership, education, human resources and other stakeholders to successfully meet and exceed established benchmarks and goals.

Minimum Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN)
  • Master’s Degree in Nursing (MSN) or related field.
  • Doctoral-level degree in relevant field (DNP, PhD, EdD, DHA, etc.) preferred.

Minimum Work Experience

  • 5 Years of progressive nursing leadership experience in a healthcare setting with demonstrated expertise in operations, workforce development, and quality improvement.

Required Licenses/Certifications

  • Current Vermont RN Licensure.
  • One or More Healthcare Specialty Certifications.

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

  • Demonstrated strong leadership skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory requirements, accreditation standards, and best practices in nursing care.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning, innovation, and excellence in patient care delivery.
  • Excellent diplomacy, problem-solving, conflict management, team building, and collaboration skills.
  • Excellent organizational, time management and self-motivation skills.
  • Willingness and ability to participate in administrator on-call rotation.
