About This Position
Manages and performs daily coordination of water well regulatory activities to carry out the mission of the Edwards Aquifer Authority (EAA).
Manages the planning, development, and implementation of programs for the protection of the Edwards Aquifer, including water well regulatory programs. Provides direction and manages daily operational activities of aquifer protection staff. Develops regulatory guidance documents. Prepares reports and proposals. Assists with water well protection planning activities. Coordinates well registration activities. Coordinates and/or conducts environmental assessments relative to groundwater protection, such as investigations of abandoned wells. Coordinates investigative activities related to environmental impacts to water resources. Provides general and technical information to the public as requested. Works under limited supervision. Receives direct guidance from the supervisor on matters related to overall objectives, critical issues, new concepts, and policy positions Has extensive knowledge of department processes. Manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs providing guidance and motivation to drive maximum performance. Ensures that project/department milestones are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has some authority for personnel actions within established policies, procedures, or guidance from the supervisor. Works collaboratively with others. Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Job performance may require listening, seeing, sitting, talking; occasional reaching, grasping, lifting, handling, pulling or pushing, balancing and carrying of items such as boxes of materials, books, etc., with weights not exceeding 25 pounds; limited walking, standing, stooping, and bending; some irregular hours and long workdays and moderate levels of stress. Job is performed primarily in an office environment with infrequent trips to other offices and limited exposure to weather conditions.
