Scrub Tech at Ophthalmology Center of Brevard LP – Melbourne, Florida

The Ophthalmology Center of Brevard is looking for an experienced ophthalmology scrub tech to assist in surgical procedures at our Surgery Center by following established procedures.

Major Duties/Responsibilities:

* Must have sterile technique experience

* Prepares the OR room for surgical procedures; assembles needed supplies, instruments, and equipment.

* Preps the patient for the designated procedure, as requested by the surgeon.

* Scrubs for assigned procedures, passes instruments and assists the surgeon during surgical procedures.

* Cleans OR room between procedures and at the end of the schedule for the day.

* Observes universal precautions.

* Handles patient specimens per policy procedure.

* Assists with supplies, stocking, inventory, and cleaning surgical instruments, as needed.

* Sterilizes, packs, sorts, and wraps instruments in accordance with Center policies and procedures.

* Performs other tasks and duties, as directed by the Center Director or physician, which are within their scope.

Education, Skills, and Experience:

* High school graduate with one or more years of related work experience in surgery.

* MUST have surgical scrub experience.

*Ophthalmology experience preferred.

* Maintains Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

* Able to maintain and comply with patient confidentiality policy on all matters.

Working Environment:

The Center is opened Monday-Friday, and provides pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative care.
