IT Manager

Location: Chicago, IL (Hybrid)

Opportunity Overview

NOCD is seeking a hands-on IT Manager to own internal IT operations, employee technology support, device management, and core IT systems across the organization.

This role will serve as the primary point of contact for employee technology needs while also helping ensure our systems, processes, and controls support NOCD's security and compliance requirements, including SOC 2.

You will work closely with People Operations, Engineering, Security, and external vendors to create a seamless employee experience while maintaining strong operational and security standards.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys balancing day-to-day support with process improvement, automation, compliance, and operational ownership in a fast-growing environment.

IT Operations & Employee Support
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employee IT support, including account access, device troubleshooting, software issues, and general technical assistance
  • Manage onboarding and offboarding processes, including user provisioning, access management, equipment deployment, and asset recovery
  • Provision, configure, ship, track, and maintain employee laptops, peripherals, and related equipment
  • Administer core business systems including Google Workspace, Slack, Zoom, and other SaaS platforms
  • Manage identity and access management processes to ensure employees have appropriate access based on role and business need
  • Maintain hardware and software inventory records and asset management processes
Security & Compliance
  • Support SOC 2 compliance efforts by maintaining IT controls, documentation, evidence collection, and audit readiness
  • Conduct periodic user access reviews and assist with security-related audits and reviews
  • Partner with Engineering and Security teams to implement and maintain security best practices
  • Support endpoint security initiatives, including device compliance, patching, and security monitoring
  • Assist in developing and maintaining IT policies, procedures, and operational documentation
Process Improvement & Vendor Management
  • Identify opportunities to automate manual workflows and improve operational efficiency
  • Manage relationships with IT vendors, software providers, and managed service partners
  • Develop scalable IT processes that support company growth while maintaining a positive employee experience
  • Create and maintain internal documentation, knowledge base articles, and support resources
Required Qualifications
  • 4+ years of experience in IT support, IT operations, systems administration, or related roles
  • Experience managing employee onboarding and offboarding processes
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across hardware, operating systems, SaaS applications, and identity management systems
  • Experience administering Google Workspace and common workplace collaboration tools
  • Experience supporting endpoint management and device lifecycle management
  • Familiarity with identity and access management concepts and tools
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Excellent communication skills and a customer-service mindset
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting SOC 2 audits, compliance programs, or security control frameworks
  • Experience administering MDM platforms such as Jamf, Kandji, Intune, or similar endpoint management solutions
  • Familiarity with endpoint security, access reviews, and security best practices
  • Experience working in a startup, healthcare, or high-growth environment
  • Experience with ticketing and support platforms such as Zendesk, Jira Service Management, or similar tools
  • Experience creating IT documentation, policies, and operational procedures
  • Basic scripting or automation experience is a plus

The expected pay range for this position is $100,000 to $120,000. Actual pay will be based on the individual’s qualifications and experience. This role is also eligible for annual performance-based incentives tied to individual achievement and company-wide goals.
