Summary:

We are seeking a passionate, client-centered Mental Health Therapist to provide trauma-informed, permanency-focused therapy to children, adolescents, and families involved in foster care, adoption, or guardianship. This role combines direct clinical services, collaboration with caregivers and child welfare partners, and participation in system-level coordination to promote stability, healing, and permanency for youth.

Essential Responsibilities, include but are not limited to:

Direct Clinical Services

  • Maintain a caseload of children, adolescents, and families impacted by foster care and child welfare involvement.
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments, including IM+CANs completion and updates.
  • Provide individual, family, and caregiver therapy in home, community, office, and telehealth settings.
  • Facilitate therapy groups, caregiver psychoeducation, and trauma-informed parenting support.
  • Develop treatment plans that reflect placement stability, reunification, adoption, and permanency goals.

Collaboration & Systems Coordination

  • Collaborate with caseworkers, foster parents, biological parents, court personnel, and agency partners.
  • Participate in Child and Family Team Meetings.
  • Provide written clinical updates to support permanency planning and court review.
  • Immediately report safety concerns, risk issues, or service disruptions to child welfare partners.
  • Maintain timely and professional communication with stakeholders.

Documentation & Compliance

  • Complete all required clinical documentation accurately and within required timelines, including IM-CANs, LOCUS, treatment plans, progress notes, monthly summaries, consents, crisis documentation, and incident reports.
  • Ensure all documentation meets agency, Medicaid, and regulatory standards and supports billing requirements.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records in the electronic health record system while meeting productivity expectations.

  • Participate in required trainings and professional development.
  • Available for appointments during after-school and evening hours
  • Maintain professional representation of the agency.

Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.

EDUCATION, SKILLS, and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • Position requires a master’s degree in counseling, social work, psychology or related human services field with at least one year of experience (including internships) working in social services.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age, possess a valid driver's license or state ID, be approved to drive agency vehicles through agency insurance, pass a criminal background check.
  • Must have excellent written and oral communication skills to facilitate and develop curriculums and lesson plans for recovery-based groups as well as document client’s progress.
  • Must be able to set and maintain professional boundaries, adapt to changing needs of the program, and provide de-escalation and crisis intervention techniques as needed.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Base Salary: $55,000 per year
  • Paid Time Off: 11 Vacation days, 12 Holidays days, 3 sick days, 3 personal days
