Job Description
Beacon Health System is seeking a compassionate and motivated Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our rehabilitation team. In this role, you'll evaluate patients, develop individualized treatment plans, and provide evidence-based occupational therapy services for patients recovering from illness, injury, surgery, or disability. - Perform comprehensive occupational therapy evaluations.
- Develop individualized treatment plans with measurable functional goals.
- Deliver evidence-based therapy interventions to improve independence and quality of life.
- Modify treatment plans based on patient progress and clinical outcomes.
- Educate patients and families on therapeutic activities, home exercise programs, and adaptive strategies.
- Collaborate with physicians and care teams to optimize patient outcomes.
- Facilitate discharge planning beginning at evaluation.
- Supervise and collaborate with Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs) in accordance with Indiana practice regulations.
- Serve as a clinical resource for rehabilitation staff and interdisciplinary teams.
- Support therapy students through mentorship and clinical instruction opportunities.
- Participate in program development, quality improvement initiatives, and department projects.
- Complete timely and accurate evaluations, progress notes, discharge summaries, and treatment documentation.
- Maintain compliance with regulatory requirements, payer guidelines, and departmental standards.
- Ensure documentation supports medical necessity and billing requirements.
- Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
- Current or eligible Indiana Occupational Therapist License.
- Current BLS/CPR certification or ability to obtain upon hire.
- Acute care or hospital-based occupational therapy experience.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and patient education skills.
