In this role, you will provide high-quality virtual clinical care while ensuring safe prescribing practices and a seamless patient experience.
- Review and assess asynchronous patient consultations through digital healthcare platforms.
- Prescribe medications safely and appropriately in line with clinical protocols and treatment guidelines.
- Provide ongoing clinical support to patients, including evaluating side effects and treatment outcomes.
- Communicate with patients professionally through chat, phone, and video consultations.
- Maintain accurate and concise patient documentation in compliance with clinical standards.
- Escalate clinical concerns appropriately and contribute to patient safety and governance processes.
- Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary healthcare teams and customer support functions.
- Participate in clinical governance meetings and contribute to pathway improvements and treatment discussions.
- Support fellow prescribers and discuss complex cases with senior clinical leadership when necessary.
- Manage workload efficiently while adhering to scheduling expectations and operational workflows.
The ideal candidate is a licensed Nurse Practitioner with strong telehealth experience, excellent clinical judgment, and a passion for accessible digital healthcare.
- Minimum 3 years of active medical practice experience.
- Active Nurse Practitioner registration in Alberta, British Columbia, or Ontario with full practicing status.
- Professional liability insurance covering asynchronous and off-label prescribing where applicable.
- Experience with telehealth, remote consultations, or digital prescribing workflows.
- Strong understanding of patient safety, clinical governance, and evidence-based prescribing practices.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary and fast-paced healthcare environments.
- Comfortable using digital health platforms, online workflows, and customer support systems.
- Strong attention to detail, decision-making, and organizational skills.
- Adaptable mindset with the ability to work independently in a remote setting.
- Willingness to obtain licensing across multiple Canadian provinces is considered an asset.
Preferred qualifications include:
- Experience managing obesity treatments and prescribing GLP-1 medications.
- Familiarity with compounded medications.
- Experience within private healthcare environments.
- Exposure to digital customer support platforms such as Zendesk.
