Job Description

Job Summary
The Logistics Support Specialist plays a critical operational role within Viscofan’s Supply Chain function, ensuring the accurate and efficient movement of goods and materials across domestic and international supply chain networks. This position is responsible for coordinating daily logistics activities including inbound and outbound shipments, customs compliance, container traffic control, and carrier communications. The incumbent serves as a key liaison between internal teams (Commercial, Production, Purchasing, and Planning) and external partners (carriers, customs brokers, freight forwarders, and insurance companies), and is expected to operate with a high degree of accuracy, accountability, and cross-functional collaboration.

Duties and Responsibilities

Shipment Coordination and Execution

  • Coordinate and monitor inbound and outbound shipments (domestic and international) to ensure accurate and on-time delivery.
  • Manage container traffic — both national and international — from scheduling through delivery confirmation.
  • Partner with carriers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and internal departments to proactively resolve shipping, delivery, and documentation issues.
  • Track and maintain accurate, up-to-date records of all logistics transactions, shipment statuses, and inventory movements.

Customs and Regulatory Compliance

  • Ensure full compliance with applicable customs regulations, import/export requirements, and applicable trade agreements.
  • Review and validate Incoterms for all VUS transactions; maintain working knowledge of applicable terms across operating entities.
  • Maintain, audit, and support the company’s C-TPAT (Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism) program, including documentation and periodic reviews.
  • Coordinate with customs brokers to prepare, validate, and archive required import/export documentation.

Cost Management and Route Optimization

  • Support the identification and implementation of transportation route improvements and freight cost reduction initiatives.
  • Monitor freight spend and escalate variances or anomalies to the Supply Chain Director.
  • Assist in evaluating carrier performance and compliance with contracted service levels and pricing.

Incident and Claims Management

  • Manage logistics-related incidents including supplier claims, damage assessments, and loss events.
  • Coordinate with insurance carriers and customs brokers to process and resolve claims in a timely manner.
  • Maintain complete and organized documentation for all claims, disputes, and incident resolutions.

Cross-Functional Collaboration and Reporting

  • Collaborate actively with Commercial, Production, Purchasing, and Planning teams to align logistics activities with business priorities.
  • Ensure timely and accurate compliance with corporate reporting requirements, including KPIs and logistics metrics.
  • Provide operational data and analysis to support supply chain planning and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, International Business, or a related field preferred.
  • Associate’s degree combined with substantial relevant experience will be considered.
  • Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in logistics, freight coordination, or supply chain operations.
  • 5+ years of experience is strongly preferred; experience in a manufacturing or multinational environment is a plus.
  • Demonstrated experience managing customs compliance, C-TPAT requirements, and import/export documentation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data analysis).
  • Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Navision) and/or Transportation Management Systems (TMS).
  • Familiarity with Power BI or similar data visualization tools is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of Viscostock or similar inventory management platforms preferred.
  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English (spoken and written) is required given the cross-border scope of this role.
