The Spanish teacher who represents Lowcountry Leadership Charter School is

responsible for the following:

As a Spanish teacher, you'll provide instruction in speaking, reading, writing, and understanding the Spanish language, as well as lessons in Spanish literature and culture. Topics vary between grade levels and courses, focusing on grammar, pronunciation, composition, spelling, vocabulary, and dialogue. History of Spanish-speaking countries may also be included. Like all teachers, you will be in charge of planning lessons and activities, grading students, and meeting with parents as needed, and implementing the SC State Standards for Spanish content.

1. Follow expectations outlined in the LLCS Employee Handbook and complete training

on school safety and compliance.

2. Monitor student learning daily. Use multiple data points to guide and individualize

instruction.

3. Develop lessons for K-12 Spanish.

4. Participate in professional learning communities and team meetings.

5. Assist in the planning and implementation of building professional development.

6. Communicate with families regularly.

7. Participate in professional development.

8. Demonstrate consistent progress on meeting the South Carolina Standards.

9. Plan assessments and grade assignments.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree

Preferred: SC Educator Certificate for Spanish or eligibility for alternative certification

programs.
