Job Description
Summary: Coordinates daily functions in a working parts department. Responsible for ordering parts, shipping and receiving and tending to the needs of the Service Department mechanics by performing the following duties.
Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Loads, unloads and transfers merchandise to designated area in accordance with training procedures.
- Signs for incoming deliveries, loads and unloads delivery trailers/trucks by hand or with material handling equipment as needed.
- Maintains shipping and receiving documentation in a neat and orderly manner.
- Inspects merchandise for deficiencies or breakages prior to shipment or warehouse storage.
- Records all merchandise discrepancies on appropriate paperwork.
- Stores materials and supplies within the warehouse according to part number and/or description by safely performing physical tasks such as lifting, carrying and stacking by hand or safely using material handling equipment.
- Completes inventory preparation for warehouse stock.
- Operates computer to track inventory and check parts stock as needed.
- Fills customer order in accordance with invoice, completes appropriate paperwork, and places a copy with the merchandise for shipment.
- Fills daily orders for the service department by retrieving parts and supplies in a timely manner.
- Responds to customer inquiries and parts orders via telephone or in person as needed.
- Mails or telephones order notifications to customers when parts arrive.
- Prepares customer bills on computer.
- Prepares special promotional packages as needed.
- Responsible for customer service as well as counter and telephone sales.
- Operates tape gun to seal boxes for shipment or stock daily.
- Maintains a neat and orderly workplace at all times to include moving pallets, sweeping, and removing/disposing of debris.
- Follows safety procedures in accordance with approved training, and reports any dangerous conditions to management immediately.
- Maintains a sufficient stock of commonly used parts and supplies, and notifies management of potential shortages.
- Orders parts and supplies at the best possible price and delivery time from parts suppliers as necessary.
- Cleans showroom and warehouse.
- Maintains and orders office needs and bath supplies.
- Complies with company policies and procedures giving special attention to safety regulations.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education/Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and experience. Prior warehouse experience helpful.
Language Ability:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Math Ability:
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of inventory software; internet software and contact management systems.
