About the Role

As a Compliance Officer, you will play a critical role in administering the Credit Union's Compliance Management Program by ensuring adherence to consumer protection laws, regulatory requirements, and internal policies across lending, deposit operations, marketing, and other business functions. You'll serve as a trusted advisor to business leaders, provide regulatory guidance, support audits and examinations, and help foster a strong culture of compliance throughout the organization. This is an excellent opportunity for a compliance professional who enjoys partnering with the business to proactively manage risk while supporting exceptional member experiences.

  • Review and coordinate responses to member complaints, identify trends and root causes, and recommend corrective actions to strengthen controls and improve compliance.
  • Monitor regulatory developments and incorporate new or revised requirements into the Compliance Management Program.
  • Assist in developing and delivering compliance training, regulatory updates, and educational resources for employees and management.
  • Collaborate with departments across the organization to promote a proactive, risk-aware culture focused on compliance and continuous improvement.
  • Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.

What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of five years of compliance experience within a financial institution, preferably a credit union or bank.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interpret complex regulations and communicate them effectively to all levels of the organization.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and projects in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Collaborative, relationship-focused approach with the ability to influence business partners and promote a strong culture of compliance and ethical decision-making.
