DACUT Cannabis is seeking an experienced, hands-on Vegetative Manager to oversee all vegetative cultivation operations within our Flint grow facility.

This position is responsible for the health, development, consistency, and production readiness of plants throughout the vegetative stage. The Vegetative Manager will lead the daily execution of plant care, irrigation, feeding, environmental management, transplanting, pruning, training, and plant movement while ensuring each room remains on schedule and prepared for a successful transition into flower.

This is a hands-on leadership position. We are looking for someone who understands commercial cannabis cultivation at scale, can identify plant health issues early, knows how to develop strong and consistent plants, and can effectively lead a cultivation team in a fast-paced production environment.

The ideal candidate takes ownership of their rooms, their team, and their results. Success in this position means delivering healthy, uniform plants to the Flower team on schedule and at the quality standards required for successful production.

  • Monitor plant growth and make adjustments to cultivation practices as needed.
  • Track plant development and identify underperforming plants or rooms.
  • Reduce unnecessary plant loss through proactive monitoring and corrective action.
  • Ensure plants meet established health, size, structure, and quality expectations before transitioning into flower.

Irrigation & Plant Nutrition

  • Oversee irrigation and feeding schedules throughout the vegetative stage.
  • Monitor plant response to irrigation and nutrient programs.
  • Ensure proper watering practices are consistently followed by the cultivation team.
  • Monitor pH, EC, runoff, moisture levels, and other applicable crop indicators.
  • Identify overwatering, underwatering, nutrient deficiencies, nutrient excesses, and other feeding-related concerns.
  • Adjust or recommend changes to irrigation and feeding programs based on plant performance.

Environmental Controls

  • Monitor temperature, humidity, VPD, lighting, airflow, CO2, and other environmental conditions.
  • Ensure vegetative rooms remain within established environmental parameters.
  • Review environmental conditions and identify trends that could negatively impact plant development.
  • Work with Cultivation leadership and Facilities to address HVAC, irrigation, lighting, or environmental control issues.
  • Respond quickly to environmental alarms or equipment failures that could impact plant health.

Team Leadership

  • Lead, train, coach, and develop Vegetative Leads and Cultivation Technicians.
  • Assign daily responsibilities based on room schedules and production priorities.
  • Establish clear expectations for productivity, quality, cleanliness, and plant care.
  • Monitor employee performance and provide real-time coaching.
  • Train employees on proper cultivation techniques and company SOPs.
  • Hold employees accountable for completing assigned tasks correctly and on schedule.
  • Maintain a productive, organized, and team-oriented cultivation environment.

IPM & Plant Protection

  • Work closely with the IPM team to identify and address pests, pathogens, mold, mildew, and disease.
  • Conduct routine plant inspections and immediately report potential plant health concerns.
  • Ensure preventative IPM protocols are followed throughout vegetative areas.
  • Maintain strict sanitation and biosecurity standards.
  • Ensure tools and equipment are properly cleaned and sanitized between rooms.
  • Enforce PPE and contamination-prevention procedures.

Plant Movement & Flower Transition

  • Coordinate plant movement between cultivation rooms according to production schedules.
  • Ensure plants are properly spaced, identified, and accounted for throughout the vegetative stage.
  • Work closely with Flower leadership to coordinate upcoming room fills.
  • Verify plants meet established standards before transitioning into flower.
  • Communicate plant counts, health concerns, timing issues, or production risks before room transfers.
  • Ensure smooth and consistent handoffs between Vegetative and Flower operations.

  • Maintain accurate plant counts, locations, movements, and cultivation records.
  • Ensure plant movements and required cultivation activities are accurately documented.
  • Support METRC plant tracking and reconciliation.
  • Work closely with Inventory and Compliance teams to resolve discrepancies.
  • Maintain accurate records of plant loss, waste, and other required activities.
  • Ensure operations comply with company SOPs and Michigan cannabis requirements.
  • Support internal inventory audits and regulatory inspections as needed.
