About The Role

As a House Person, you play a key support role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for all guests and team members. This hourly, full-time position works closely with room attendants, supervisors, and other housekeeping staff to ensure all public and back-of-house areas are tidy, well-stocked, and ready for daily operations. Ideal for individuals starting their careers, this role does not require prior experience and offers hands-on training, exposure to hotel operations, and opportunities for growth within the housekeeping and hospitality teams.

What You'll Do

  • Support room attendants by delivering linens, amenities, and cleaning supplies as requested
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of hallways, elevators, stairwells, lobbies, and other public areas
  • Collect, transport, and distribute clean and soiled linens to and from designated storage or laundry areas
  • Empty trash and recycling containers in public and staff areas according to established procedures
  • Assist with deep-cleaning tasks such as vacuuming, dusting, mopping, and spot-cleaning carpets and upholstery
  • Replenish housekeeping carts, closets, and storage rooms with supplies and amenities
  • Respond promptly and courteously to guest requests and direct them to the appropriate team member when needed
  • Report any maintenance issues, safety hazards, or damaged equipment and furnishings to supervisors
  • Follow all safety, sanitation, and infection-control standards and use cleaning chemicals properly
  • Assist with setup, breakdown, and cleaning for special events or high-occupancy periods as directed
  • Work collaboratively with the housekeeping team to meet daily cleanliness and service standards
  • Perform other housekeeping and support duties as assigned by the Housekeeping Supervisor or Manager

Qualifications

  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
  • No prior housekeeping experience required; training will be provided
  • Strong work ethic with the ability to complete tasks accurately and efficiently
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, checklists, and safety guidelines
  • Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, push, pull, lift, and carry up to 40 lbs for extended periods
  • Comfort working with cleaning products and equipment while following safety procedures
  • Reliability and punctuality, with the ability to work a consistent full-time schedule
  • Willingness to work weekends, holidays, and varied shifts as needed based on business demands
  • Positive, professional attitude and a commitment to providing excellent service to guests and colleagues
  • Eligibility to work in the country where the position is located, in accordance with applicable laws

The pay range for this role is:
19 - 20 USD per hour(Hyatt House Sacramento)
