Description:

The Mailroom Technician is responsible for the accurate and timely receipt, processing, and distribution of all incoming and outgoing mail and packages at the assigned facility. This role manages deliveries from multiple carriers, tracks packages through a web tracking system, supports security screening procedures, and ensures mail and packages reach recipients across the facility. The Mailroom Technician also supports shipping, office moves, and workspace organization, and plays a key role in keeping daily operations running smoothly.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Receive and sort incoming mail and packages from all carriers, including USPS, UPS, FedEx Ground, FedEx Express, Amazon, and DHL.
  • Log incoming packages into the web tracking system to ensure accurate tracking and accountability.
  • Sort and route items for security scanning according to site procedures.
  • Deliver first-class mail, accountable mail, and packages to recipients across the facility.
  • Deliver interoffice mail and packages between departments.
  • Package and prepare boxes for outgoing shipments.
  • Pick up filled boxes to support office moves.
  • Collect and manage 5S supplies to maintain an organized, efficient workspace.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) equivalent.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull packages up to 50 pounds regularly.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods throughout the shift.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Teams, Word, and Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in sorting, logging, and tracking packages.
  • Basic computer skills, with the ability to learn web-based tracking systems.
  • Ability to follow security procedures and handle accountable and confidential mail responsibly.
  • Good time management and the ability to meet daily delivery schedules.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in a mailroom, shipping and receiving, or logistics role.
  • Familiarity with carrier systems (USPS, UPS, FedEx, DHL).
  • Experience with package tracking software or scanners.
