Job Description
Threat Tec is seeking a highly qualified Senior Plans & Strategy Concept Lead to support the Marine Forces Special Operations Command contract at Camp Lejeune, NC. The selected candidate will provide senior-level subject matter expertise in operational planning, strategic concept development, force employment, and capability integration in support of MARSOC mission requirements.
This position requires a professional with demonstrated experience supporting special operations, military planning processes, concept development, and senior-level staff coordination. The ideal candidate will be able to translate strategic guidance into executable planning products, support future operations and strategy development, and provide informed recommendations to government leadership.
- Lead and support the development of operational plans, strategic concepts, planning frameworks, and mission support products.
- Provide senior subject matter expertise on special operations planning, strategy, force development, and operational design.
- Assist in the development, review, and refinement of concepts of operation, campaign support products, briefings, white papers, and decision-support materials.
- Support staff planning efforts using established military planning methodologies and joint planning processes.
- Coordinate across staff sections, subordinate elements, and external stakeholders to ensure planning efforts are aligned with command priorities.
- Analyze strategic guidance, operational requirements, emerging threats, and capability gaps to support informed decision-making.
- Prepare executive-level briefings, information papers, and planning documents for senior leaders.
- Support working groups, planning teams, operational synchronization meetings, and strategic engagement events.
- Identify risks, planning assumptions, constraints, and opportunities related to operational and strategic initiatives.
- Ensure all deliverables are accurate, timely, professionally written, and aligned with government requirements.
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant military, government, or defense contractor experience supporting operational planning, strategy, or special operations.
- Minimum of 3 years experience serving in a senior marine Corps, or Joint Staff position
- Demonstrated knowledge of military planning processes, operational design, strategy development, and staff operations.
- Experience developing high-quality written products, briefings, concepts, plans, and senior leader decision-support materials.
- Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, mission-focused environment with limited supervision.
- Strong communication, coordination, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
- Top Secret/SCI clearance required
- Prior service in a special operations, Marine Corps, or joint operational planning billet.
- Joint Qualified Officer preferred
- Experience supporting MARSOC, USSOCOM, MARFOR, or other SOF-related commands.
- Graduate of a military intermediate-level or senior service school.
- Experience with future operations, future plans, concept development, campaign planning, or force design.
- Familiarity with DoD, Joint Staff, Marine Corps, and USSOCOM planning guidance and doctrine.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Master’s degree in national security studies, strategic studies, military studies, international relations, operational planning, or a related field preferred.
- Additional relevant military education or operational planning experience may be considered in lieu of advanced degree requirements.
