This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Informatics Technical Specialist based in the United States.
This role sits at the intersection of laboratory operations, clinical informatics, and technical consulting, supporting the deployment and integration of advanced software solutions in diagnostic laboratory environments. You will act as a key customer-facing technical expert, enabling seamless connectivity between laboratory instruments, LIS (Laboratory Information Systems), and data management platforms. The position combines hands-on implementation work with consultative responsibilities, ensuring systems are configured to optimize workflow efficiency and data accuracy. You will collaborate closely with laboratory professionals and IT teams to design, install, and support integrated informatics solutions tailored to each customer’s environment. A key focus of the role is ensuring reliable system connectivity and performance while identifying opportunities for improvement in laboratory automation. This is a highly technical, field-based role where your expertise directly supports the efficiency and quality of clinical diagnostics workflows.
- Serve as the primary technical point of contact for customers during implementation and integration of laboratory informatics solutions
- Design, configure, and support connectivity between laboratory instruments, automation systems, LIS platforms, and network infrastructure
- Develop and apply custom logic or configuration adjustments to ensure seamless data exchange and workflow optimization
- Lead end-to-end implementation activities, acting as project lead for laboratory informatics deployment initiatives
- Install and integrate third-party hardware, including servers and workstations, to support informatics software environments
- Identify system gaps and propose design improvements to enhance integration performance and laboratory efficiency
- Provide ongoing technical consulting and support to ensure customer satisfaction and sustained system performance
- Collaborate with laboratory and IT stakeholders to tailor solutions to specific workflow and operational needs
- Associate degree in Science, IT, Medical Technology, or a related field with 3+ years of experience in a clinical laboratory or LIS environment
- Strong understanding of laboratory workflows, diagnostic instrumentation, and clinical laboratory operations
- Experience with LIS systems, laboratory informatics platforms, or healthcare IT integrations
- Ability to troubleshoot and configure system connectivity across instruments, networks, and data platforms
- Strong project management and organizational skills, including managing schedules, travel, and customer engagements
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work directly with laboratory and IT professionals
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record and ability to travel extensively (up to 85%)
- Bachelor’s degree or Medical Technology background is a plus
- Experience with programming, networking, databases, or Beckman Coulter systems is highly valued
- Hourly compensation ranging from $36.00 to $45.00 depending on experience
