Job Description

Job Summary

The 340B Program Registered Pharmacy Technician, under the supervision of pharmacy management, supports the operations and compliance of the federal 340B Drug Pricing Program. Assists the day-to-day 340b activities, ensuring accurate tracking of eligible prescriptions, maintaining program compliance, and supporting audits and reporting requirements. Applies comprehensive knowledge of pharmacy operations to maximize program savings while ensuring strict adherence to HRSA 340B regulations and organization compliance standards.

Minimum Job Requirements:

Work Experience:

One year of experience as a pharmacy technician required.

Exposure to 340B program operations, supporting audits, compliance documentation process, inventory management and NDC verification preferred.

License/Registration/Certification:

Pharmacy Technician Registration with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy (TSBP) required.

Education and Training:

High School graduate or equivalent. Graduate of an accredited Pharmacy Technician education program preferred.

Skills:

  1. Ability to complete 340B University training within 3 months of hire to establish foundational knowledge of 340B program operations, compliance requirements, and industry standards.
  2. Advanced pharmacy technician knowledge, including pharmacy terminology, dispensing workflows, inventory processes, and proper billing of prescriptions.
  3. Strong data management and reconciliation skills, with the ability to analyze accumulations, validate NDCs, and resolve discrepancies using critical thinking and attention to detail.
  4. Knowledge of 340B program regulations, HRSA compliance expectations, and documentation standards, including audit preparation and maintenance of audit‑ready records.
  5. Working knowledge of DSCSA requirements, including product tracing, serialization, authorized trading partner verification, and regulatory documentation.
  6. Proficiency with computer applications and 340B software systems, with strong keyboarding, data entry, and analytical computer skills.
  7. Effective oral and written communication skills to collaborate with pharmacists, buyers, billing teams, and contract pharmacy partners.
  8. Strong organizational and time‑management abilities to manage multiple tasks, maintain accurate records, and meet regulatory deadlines.
  9. Ability to prepare clear, accurate documentation for internal and external audits, regulatory reviews, and compliance reporting.
  10. Ability to maintain confidentiality and uphold compliance standards, ensuring secure handling of patient, provider, and organizational information.
