This role is a high-impact opportunity for a tax professional with strong expertise in U.S. federal and multi-state taxation, working in a fully remote and international environment. You will be responsible for ensuring accurate tax compliance while also contributing to strategic tax planning and advisory activities that directly influence business decisions. The position involves close collaboration with Finance, Legal, and leadership teams, as well as external auditors and advisors. You will play a key role in managing complex tax structures, supporting corporate initiatives such as M&A, and interpreting evolving tax regulations. This is a hands-on, detail-driven role suited for someone who thrives in fast-paced, cross-functional settings. It also offers the chance to mentor junior team members while strengthening global tax operations. - Oversee U.S. federal, state, and local tax compliance processes, including corporate income tax, sales tax, and payroll tax filings.
- Develop and execute tax planning strategies to optimize the organization’s overall tax position.
- Provide expert guidance on tax implications related to business decisions, transactions, and corporate structuring.
- Lead the ASC 740 tax provision process and coordinate with external auditors during financial reporting cycles.
- Monitor and analyze changes in tax legislation and assess their operational and financial impact.
- Manage relationships with external tax advisors, consultants, and tax authorities, including audits and inquiries.
- Support strategic initiatives such as M&A, restructuring, and cross-functional financial projects.
- Mentor and support junior tax team members, contributing to capability building within the function.
- Strong, non-negotiable expertise in U.S. federal, state, and local tax law.
- Proven experience in corporate tax compliance and tax planning within corporate or public accounting environments.
- Hands-on experience with ASC 740 income tax accounting and reporting.
- CPA certification required; advanced degree in Taxation or equivalent qualification is highly preferred.
- Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
- Excellent English communication skills, with the ability to advise and present to senior stakeholders.
- Prior experience working remotely with U.S.-based companies and proficiency with tools such as Slack, Zoom, and Google Workspace.
- Familiarity with multi-entity structures, international tax topics, or M&A tax support is a plus.
- Experience with tax systems such as Thomson Reuters ONESOURCE, Vertex, or similar platforms is advantageous.
- Remote contract role with global exposure.
