Job Summary

Doota US is seeking a The Telecommunications Cable Tester is responsible for testing, certifying, troubleshooting, and documenting installed Cat6 telecommunications cabling systems using TREND Networks cable testing equipment. This position works closely with cable installation crews, field supervisors, and project management to verify that installed cabling meets project specifications, manufacturer requirements, and applicable industry standards.

Primary Responsibilities

• Perform Cat6 cable testing and certification using TREND Networks cable testers or approved equivalent equipment. Verify cable performance and connectivity, including: - Wire map
  - Cable length
  - Insertion loss
  - NEXT / PS NEXT
  - Return loss
  - ACR-N / ACR-F
  - Propagation delay and delay skew
• Confirm that installed Cat6 cabling meets required performance standards and project specifications. Identify and troubleshoot failed cable tests:
  - Diagnose common issues including:
  - Improper termination
  - Open or short circuits
  - Split pairs
  - Damaged cable
  - Excessive cable length
  - Connector or jack issues
  - Installation-related defects
• Coordinate with installation crews to correct deficiencies and perform re-testing.
• Verify cable IDs, labels, equipment locations, patch-panel locations, and termination points against drawings and cable schedules.
• Test communication cabling between network cabinets, patch panels, field equipment, and equipment-side communication ports.
• Record and maintain accurate PASS/FAIL test results.
• Save, organize, and submit electronic cable test reports according to project naming and documentation requirements.
• Support punch-list activities and final cable acceptance testing.
• Maintain TREND Networks testing equipment, adapters, test leads, and related tools in proper working condition.
• Follow company and project-specific safety requirements while working in an active industrial or construction environment.
  

Required Qualifications

• Hands-on experience testing Cat6 structured cabling systems.
• Experience operating TREND Networks cable testing equipment or similar professional network cable testers.
• Understanding of RJ45 termination, patch panels, jacks, and structured cabling systems.
• Ability to read cable schedules, telecommunications drawings, floor plans, and equipment location information.
• Ability to troubleshoot copper cabling failures and installation defects.
• Basic knowledge of Cat6 cabling standards and structured cabling installation practices.
• Ability to accurately record and organize high-volume cable test results.
• Good communication skills and ability to coordinate with field installers, supervisors, and project management.
• Ability to work safely in an active construction environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with TREND Networks professional cable certification testers, including LanTEK-series equipment or equivalent.
• Experience exporting and managing electronic test reports from TREND Networks testing equipment.
• Previous experience on semiconductor, data center, manufacturing, industrial, or large commercial construction projects.
• Experience performing high-volume Cat6 certification testing. BICSI or structured cabling certifications are preferred but not required.
