Job Description

Description:

Oversees and manages the Maintenance and Grounds/Landscaping Department including creating and managing the budget, all facility plans, oversees and performs routine and extensive preventative maintenance and repair procedures on all but not limited to amusement rides, mechanical equipment, utility systems, and buildings within the entities collectively managed by Morgan's Wonderland and its entities. Responsible for all facets of inventory for all parts and equipment. Rely on any documentation, and other instructions provided by the manufacturer to diagnose and fix any problems.

This is a “hands-on” manager’s position.

Requirements:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Directs Maintenance and Landscaping team in all aspects to effectively ensure the safety and security of all guests and MWQ (Morgan’s Wonderland Quality) standards.
  • Responsible for budget creation and management; ensuring invoices are submitted on a timely basis and good vendor relationships are maintained.
  • Oversee physical maintenance and operations of buildings, facilities, and building systems.
  • Maintains receiving, shipping, and invoicing operations by implementing, coordinating, and enforcing program, operational, and personnel policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for keeping detailed records of daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual safety checklists, equipment, inventory, department team schedules.
  • Work with operating staff and other respective members to organize and complete work order forms in a timely manner.
  • Manage leases, contractors, and budgets related to buildings and facilities.
  • Responsible for ensuring all amusement rides, and attractions are inspected and green tagged before each shift.
  • Orders supplies and keeps inventory of existing supplies and equipment, as well as increasing, when feasible, the on-site parts inventory.
  • Controls inventory levels by conducting physical counts to ensure all parts are ordered in advance for any issues that may arise throughout the premises of Wonderland, TX.
  • Will ensure maintenance of rides and attractions are done within the manufacturer's guidelines.
  • Will incorporate a structured environment to obtain and ensure all maintenance operations are met daily.
  • Works closely with Maintenance Team to initiate, and perform daily checklists, to complete work orders accordingly.
  • Perform inspection of the premises and ensure that any hazardous conditions are taken care of immediately.
  • Oversee and assist with construction or remodeling projects.
  • Other projects and responsibilities may be added at the General Managers/CEO's discretion.

General

  • Create and foster an atmosphere of friendliness and hospitality in the park office to ensure an enjoyable experience for staff, and guests.
  • Cultivate staff morale by monitoring team dynamics and individual needs.
  • Participates in ongoing professional development and maintains an understanding of current best practices.
  • Take ownership and support the park administration in the effective implementation of the Park’s Emergency Response Plan.
  • Attend and participate in employee training and meetings
  • Any other duties as required.

Qualifications

  • Ability and experience to manage a team.
  • Knowledge of electrical systems, plumbing, carpentry, HVAC systems, commercial kitchen equipment, etc.
  • Common knowledge to troubleshoot a problem and the ability to problem-solve issues to the desired outcome.
  • Knowledge of water quality, testing, and the basic mechanics of water pumps work and how they are maintained is a plus; CPO Certification within 12 months of hire.
  • Knowledge of scheduling system or use of scheduling calendar.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook products.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints and mechanical schematics.
  • The use of SmartSheet is a plus.

Experience

  • Must have Management/Supervisor experience.
  • Must have experience working on small motors, mechanical equipment, utility systems, and amusement rides are a plus.
  • Completion of a CPO certification ASAP or within 12 months of hire.
  • Background check and drug test will be conducted upon employment offer
  • Must have experience working with inventory control on parts and equipment
  • Must have knowledge of ordering and receiving invoices in a timely manner.
  • Must have the ability to prioritize and organize varied/multiple tasks
  • Must be able to work independently and take initiative to complete tasks.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite including word, excel, teams, and outlook.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.
  • Commitment to the mission and core values of Morgan’s Wonderland as well as the implementation of these values in all daily work activities.
  • Willingness and enthusiasm to work as part of a team; maintain a positive attitude even under stress.
  • Willingness to work weekend days and have a flexible schedule that varies by the season of the year.

  • Must be able to withstand walking/standing for long periods of time.
  • Continuous requirement for professional demeanor and appropriate park staff attire.

Physical Requirements –

  • Frequent sitting, standing, walking, bending, and twisting upper body.
  • Must be able to lift 80lbs, be able to walk while carrying tools to different locations and climb a ladder multiple story.
  • Must be able to walk long distances

  • The work environment is an outdoor park environment with continuous outdoor activity and exposure to weather a times.
  • Must remain alert with no lapses of consciousness
  • Continuous requirement for professional demeanor and appropriate park staff attire always.
