Description:

The Wiring Technician is responsible for assembling, wiring, and testing electrical panels, control systems, and field devices in accordance with engineering drawings and specifications. This role ensures that all wiring and connections meet quality standards, safety codes, and customer requirements. The Wiring Technician plays a key role in supporting the timely delivery of high-quality electrical assemblies for industrial and energy projects.

Job Requirements

  • Assemble and wire electrical control panels and junction boxes according to schematics.
  • Terminate wires, cables, and connectors with precision and accuracy.
  • Install DIN rail components, breakers, relays, and PLC modules as required.
  • Perform point-to-point wiring checks and continuity testing.
  • Route wiring neatly, applying bundling, ties, and labeling for clarity and traceability.
  • Assist in functional testing of panels to verify performance.
  • Collaborate with engineers and supervisors to resolve wiring discrepancies.
  • Maintain documentation of wiring changes and test results.
  • Ensure compliance with NEC, UL, and OSHA standards for electrical installations.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.

Required Skills

  • Strong knowledge of electrical wiring techniques and control panel assembly.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and bills of material.
  • Skilled in wire preparation, crimping, soldering, and terminal connections.
  • Proficient with hand tools and electrical testing equipment.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to meet project deadlines while maintaining accuracy.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.

Required Experience & Education

  • Minimum 0-2 years of wiring or electrical assembly experience in panel shop or industrial environments.
  • High school diploma or GED required; technical training or certification in electrical trades preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift at least 50 pounds.
  • Ability to perform repetitive movements.
  • Ability to stand (for extended periods of time), walk, stoop, kneel, squat, crawl, and twist.
  • Ability to sit, balance, and climb ladders, scaffolds, and other objects.
  • Ability to move in and around confined and cluttered places and uneven areas.
  • Ability to distinguish colors.
