This role supports the design and engineering of security and fire alarm systems for enterprise-level customers. You will create and document installed solutions while ensuring designs meet project requirements, electrical standards, codes, and Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) requirements. Working within a dynamic project environment, you will collaborate with colleagues, vendors, consultants, and customers to deliver practical and cost-effective solutions. The position offers exposure to moderately complex projects where accuracy, initiative, and analytical thinking are highly valued. You will contribute to projects that help protect people, property, and critical assets through reliable security and life-safety systems. - Design, engineer, and document installed security and fire alarm solutions of moderate complexity, ensuring that deliverables align with project requirements, defined product specifications, applications, and electrical requirements.
- Review project scopes and technical requirements to confirm compliance with applicable codes, standards, and Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) requirements, identifying potential issues before they affect project delivery.
- Develop practical and cost-effective design solutions that satisfy customer requirements while supporting project schedules, quality expectations, and overall project objectives.
- Proactively communicate and coordinate with colleagues, vendors, consultants, customers, and relevant authorities to clarify requirements, resolve design questions, and support successful project execution.
- Apply sound analytical thinking to break down technical or design challenges, evaluate available options, and identify effective solutions.
- Demonstrate initiative by proactively identifying opportunities for improvement and contributing to a collaborative, customer-focused project environment.
- Perform additional project design duties and responsibilities as required to support team and business objectives.
- A college degree, trade school education, or equivalent combination of education and practical experience is required.
- At least 1 year of experience drafting or designing security and/or fire alarm systems for enterprise-level customers is required.
- At least 1 year of experience using CAD, AutoCAD, FireCAD, or comparable design software is required.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint is expected, with the ability to use these tools effectively for documentation, communication, analysis, and project coordination.
- A strong customer focus is important, with the ability to understand customer needs and translate them into appropriate technical and design solutions.
- Demonstrated initiative and a proactive approach to identifying improvements, addressing challenges, and taking ownership of assigned work are essential.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills are required, along with the ability to logically assess technical issues and develop practical solutions.

- Competitive annual salary ranging from $57,000 to $75,000, with individual compensation varying based on location, experience, skills, certifications, licenses, education, and other relevant factors.
