Job Description
SROA's Graphic Designer - Marketing & Communications position will exercise your graphic design and communication skills in a variety of creative ways. This in-office position includes design, photography, layout, writing and advertising design for the association's monthly newspaper, the Sunriver Scene. This position is also responsible for the creation of various materials from social media platform posts to web and print design, in support of marketing and communications to members of the association, visitors and the overall community.
This is a great opportunity for a versatile designer who enjoys variety—moving between publication design, creative projects, photography, digital content and collaborative work while helping tell the story of the Sunriver community.
What You’ll Do
- Design engaging print and digital materials, including advertisements, posters, flyers, brochures, signage, maps, event materials and educational communications.
- Design and produce the monthly Sunriver Scene newspaper, including page layout, graphics and advertising placement.
- Create advertisements and coordinate advertising materials for Sunriver Scene clients.
- Collaborate with departments across SROA to develop creative concepts and visual materials for programs, events, projects and community initiatives.
- Create and prepare graphics, photography and other visual assets for print, web and social media.
- Photograph SROA programs, events and community activities for use across multiple communications channels.
- Create and publish social media content and assist with website content and updates.
- Assist with communications and marketing campaigns from concept through production.
- Help proof and prepare publications and other materials for commercial printing.
- Provide general creative and communications support to the communications team and SROA departments.
The Good Stuff
- Starting Range: $28.00-$30.00 per hour

Requirements:What We’re Looking For
- Strong graphic design skills with experience designing for both print and digital media.
- Experience with publication layout and production, including knowledge of commercial printing processes.
- Ability to turn information and ideas into clear, visually engaging communications.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accurate, high-quality work.
- Ability to maintain established brand standards and visual consistency across projects and platforms.
- Strong written communication, grammar, editing and proofreading skills; AP Style knowledge preferred.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines while responding to changing priorities.
- A collaborative approach and ability to work effectively with a variety of departments, work styles and audiences.
- Ability to work independently, take initiative and see assigned projects through completion.
- Comfortable occasionally working outdoors and in varying weather conditions for photography, events and other assignments.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, marketing, communications or a related field preferred.
- A minimum of three years of professional experience in graphic design, communications, marketing, publication design or a related field.
- Experience with print publication production, digital design and multimedia communications preferred.
A combination of relevant education and professional experience may be considered.
Technology & Design Skills
- Strong proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud, particularly InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and Acrobat.
- Experience with Adobe Premiere Pro or similar video editing tools.
- Strong proficiency working in a Mac environment.
- Familiarity with website content management and basic web design; Webflow experience preferred.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
- Familiarity with project management platforms such as Asana or similar tools.
Additional Requirements
- Valid Oregon Driver's License with driving record acceptable to SROA insurers.
- Pre-employment drug screening and background check.
