About the role
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented SolidWorks Drafting Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of hands-on experience using AutoCAD Mechanical and SolidWorks, with a strong understanding of mechanical and electrical drafting standards and design documentation. You’ll play a key role in producing accurate and comprehensive electrical schematics and layouts for a variety of industrial and commercial projects.
What you'll do
- Create and modify drawings and layouts using AutoCAD Mechanical and SolidWorks.
- Create detailed 2D or 3D Designs to complete drawing packages for complex projects
- The ability to properly use industry components consisting of piping, tubing, fittings, skids design, process equipment and components.
- Convert redline markups generated by Engineers
- Make final sketches, check dimension of parts, materials to be used, relation of one part to another, and relation of various parts to whole project.
- Create detailed structural assemblies and create a bill of materials.
- Design and document panel layouts, footprints, and nameplates.
- Run reports and ensure documentation is complete and accurate.
- Collaborate with engineers and project managers to ensure designs meet project requirements and timelines.
- Maintain organized project files and drawing records.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of experience using AutoCAD Mechanical and SolidWorks.
- Proficient in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, REVIT, Microsoft Office Suite. Able to read P&ID’s.
- Strong organizational skills and able to quickly learn and master new skills.
- Able to work within a team environment or independently with limited direction.
- Effective communication skills.
- Firm grasp of mathematics, engineering, and refrigeration industry information.
- Construction drafting experience a plus.
- Associate degree or technical certification in drafting or electrical technology.
- Familiarity with industrial refrigeration systems and electrical components.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
