Job Description
Alliance Workforce Management is hiring Gas & Diesel Truck Mechanics to support a leading transportation and fleet maintenance operation in Owasso. This role is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining commercial trucks to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient performance.
Position OverviewThe Gas & Diesel Truck Mechanic performs inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs on medium- and heavy-duty trucks powered by gasoline and diesel engines. This role ensures fleet readiness, minimizes downtime, and maintains compliance with safety and operational standards.
Responsibilities- Inspect, diagnose, and repair gas and diesel engines, transmissions, drivetrains, and related components.
- Perform routine maintenance including oil changes, filter replacements, brake service, and fluid checks.
- Troubleshoot electrical systems, wiring, sensors, and onboard diagnostics.
- Repair or replace hydraulic and pneumatic components as needed.
- Conduct DOT-compliant inspections and ensure vehicles meet safety requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, parts usage, and service logs.
- Operate diagnostic tools, scan equipment, and mechanical testing instruments.
- Perform welding, fabrication, or minor bodywork when required.
- Collaborate with supervisors and drivers to identify mechanical issues and prioritize repairs.
- Keep work areas clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards.
- Other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or GED required; technical training in diesel technology or automotive repair preferred.
- 2–5 years of experience working with gas or diesel trucks, heavy equipment, or fleet vehicles.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and diagnostic skills.
- Experience with electrical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and engine diagnostics.
- Ability to read and interpret repair manuals, schematics, and technical documents.
- Basic computer skills for logging repairs and using diagnostic software.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
- Valid driver’s license required; CDL is an asset.
- Work performed in a shop environment with exposure to noise, fumes, and mechanical equipment.
- Frequent standing, bending, kneeling, and lifting heavy parts or tools.
- Ability to lift up to 70 lbs unassisted.
- Use of PPE including safety glasses, gloves, steel-toe boots, and hearing protection as required.
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as climbing, crawling under vehicles, and maneuvering heavy components.
- Adequate vision for detailed inspections and identifying electrical color codes.
- Ability to work in varying temperatures depending on shop conditions.
