Axon Medical Centers is a growing multidisciplinary personal-injury healthcare organization specializing in the evaluation and treatment of Orthopedic & Spine Injuries, Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), and Vestibular Rehabilitation.
We are expanding into Longview, Texas, and are seeking a highly motivated Nurse Practitioner to join our clinical team.
Position Overview
The Nurse Practitioner will provide comprehensive evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing management of patients who have experienced traumatic and orthopedic injuries.
The NP will work collaboratively with Axon providers, physical therapists, PTAs, medical assistants, and management to provide coordinated, high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities
Perform comprehensive new-patient evaluations.
Obtain detailed medical and injury histories.
Perform physical and neurological examinations.
Evaluate patients with orthopedic, spine, neurological, and injury-related complaints.
Develop appropriate treatment and management plans.
Order and review diagnostic imaging and laboratory studies when clinically appropriate.
Evaluate and document TBI-related symptoms and functional concerns within scope of practice and training.
Coordinate patient care with Physical Therapy and other members of the clinical team.
Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as clinically appropriate.
Provide patient education regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, and recovery expectations.
Maintain accurate, complete, and timely medical records.
Complete clinical documentation and superbills within required timelines.
Review diagnostic results and incorporate appropriate findings into the patient's treatment plan.
Communicate professionally with patients, referring providers, attorneys, and other healthcare professionals when appropriate.
Participate in daily clinical huddles and multidisciplinary case discussions.
Follow all applicable Texas laws, scope-of-practice requirements, HIPAA regulations, and Axon Medical Centers policies.
Maintain a high standard of clinical professionalism and patient-centered care.
Support the development and growth of the Longview clinic.
Qualifications
Required:
Master's degree or Doctor of Nursing Practice from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
Current, unrestricted Texas Nurse Practitioner license.
Current national board certification as applicable.
Current DEA registration or ability to obtain, as applicable to the position.
Strong clinical assessment and documentation skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a multidisciplinary team.
Preferred:
Experience in Orthopedics, Neurology, Personal Injury, Urgent Care, or outpatient medicine.
Experience evaluating traumatic brain injuries.
Experience with musculoskeletal and spine injuries.
Familiarity with personal-injury medical documentation.
Bilingual English/Spanish.
Experience working with EMR systems.
