Location: Anaheim, CA
Hours: Full Time/ Monday - Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM
Hourly Range: $28.00 - $32.00 per hour (Hourly rate will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and experience.)
JOB SUMMARY: Processing accounting receivables and incoming payments in compliance with financial policies and procedures. Preparing bills receivable, invoices and bank deposits. The Accounts Receivable compiles transactions and journal entries, supports the accounting team with various month end activities. This position also creates and updates various reports primarily in Excel. Reconciles Balance Sheet accounts as well as bank statements. Completes moderate calculations. In addition, Accounts Receivable Specialist will assist with Account Payables. Must have a basic knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles. Is proficient with spreadsheets and other software tools. Working in accounting/administrative role typically requires +2 years of related experience in the nonprofit field.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performs Accounts Receivable including medical billing, city billings.
- Apply and reconcile payments to client remittance.
- Reconcile bank accounts including investment accounts.
- Records participants’ contributions and online donations.
- Ability to upload and export data files from various ERP systems.
- Assists with various audits to provide support documents.
- Assists accounts payable including input and review AP invoices to ensure coding is in line with our Cost Allocation Plan. This involves a highly detailed allocation of invoices across many programs by vendor and expense type.
- Assist with the Cost Allocation Plan every six months.
- Maintains annual applications and quarterly billings relating to CDBG contracts
- Maintains customer contracts / agreements.
- Assists with applications for various grants.
- Miscellaneous journal entries.
- Assist with donation deposits which includes cash, checks and credit card handling.
- Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, or a Bachelor’s Degree with substantial course work in accounting or equivalent work experience with a minimum of 2 years.
- Must have strong analytical skills
- Must be computer literate and familiar with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel-above basic level, Word), Dynamics 365 Business Central, Copilot or other similar programs.
- Experienced in creating general ledger journal entries.
- Adhere to strict deadlines imposed by outside entities.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with the accounting team and other departments as well as outside vendor and agencies.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- This job operates in a fast-paced, multi-tasking, professional environment, requiring ongoing learning and complex problem-solving.
- Ability to sit in a stationary position for extended periods and use both hands and fingers for typing on a keyboard.
- Ability to use office equipment such as a copy machine, printer, filing cabinets, and telephones.
- Occasionally must be able to move and lift office equipment and materials to 10 pounds.
- Close vision requirements due to frequent computer use.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate (i.e., telephones, computers, printers, etc.).
- Occasional overtime and local travel may be required.
