Monday - Friday 8:30am - 4:00pm - 37.5 hours
BARC is currently seeking professional, caring, and motivated Direct Support Professional (DSP) to assist individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities in our Day Program. In this position, expect to make an impactful and meaningful difference in someone else’s life every day.
Services include but are not limited to assisting individuals, promoting personal growth and reaching their goals daily activities, by providing personal care, and attending community and social activities. Applicants with no experience or seeking a career change are encouraged to apply – we will train the right candidates.
Requirements:Minimum Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least age 18.
- Valid driver’s license, clean driving record and reliable transportation.
- Ability to obtain Public Passenger Endorsement (PPE) license.

Responsibilities:
- Provide opportunities for learning new skills and independence by working on individuals’ goals and plans.
- Transport individual to and from programs and activities.
- Administer medications and treatments meeting all guidelines and accurate documentation.
- Provide safe and nurturing environment where Individuals are treated with dignity, respect, can exercise their rights and responsibilities and are protected from abuse or neglect.
- Electronically record daily activities maintaining confidentiality and complying with all policies and procedures to protect the identity, medical, HIPPA information.
- Obtain and maintain all required certifications and trainings (in person and online).
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Physical Efforts:
- May include extended periods of standing, sitting, walking with occasional periods of stooping, crouching, kneeling.
- Positions may require the ability to independently lift at least 25 pounds, push/pull varying weight (wheelchairs) or have to safely transfer ~35 pounds.
