WORK LOCATION: Newington, CT. This is an in person role.

SUMMARY

Responsible for the setup, mechanical troubleshooting, minor repair and operation of envelope machines. Perform setups, mechanical troubleshooting and minor repairs across pieces several pieces of equipment that other operators are running.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Perform setup on machines in a timely manner. Clean machine prior to setup and inspect the machine as a preventive maintenance measure. Review and interpret recap instructions.
  1. Perform mechanical troubleshooting on machines and make minor adjustments/ corrections to ensure dimensions and quality of piece; monitor production.
  1. Perform cutting operations; make any necessary adjustments.
  1. Perform folder operations and operate folder.
  1. Hand-gather finished work and pack as necessary.
  2. Perform other department operations as required.
  1. Keep immediate work area neat and orderly.
  1. Comply with company rules and regulations.
  1. Maintain confidentiality of company-sensitive data.
  1. Implement a commitment to quality philosophy and recommend methods and procedures to reduce cost and/or improve operating efficiency of the department.
  1. Keep manager/supervisor informed of activities and situations that will impact the achievement of corporate or department goals and objectives.
  1. Perform other related duties as required to achieve the goals and objectives of the department and company.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
  • High school diploma or GED.
COMPETENCIES
  • Thorough understanding of envelope manufacturing equipment setup and operation.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and perform minor machine repairs.
  • Ability to apply written instructions to machine operation and product quality.
  • Good math skills
  • Reliability through attendance, punctuality and attention to work station
  • Demonstrates positive safety attitude
