Location: Boone, North Carolina | Part-Time | Days, 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM

- Compensation: Starting at $33.93 per hour, based on education and experience.

What You'll Do as a Mobile MRI Technologist
- Perform MRI imaging procedures, integrating scientific knowledge and technical skill to produce high-quality diagnostic images.
- Provide direct and indirect patient care that meets each patient's individual needs with compassion, dignity, and respect.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, colleagues, and leadership across the care team.
- Respond quickly and accurately to emergencies and changes in patient condition.
- Deliver care that supports top-tier outcomes for patient experience, quality, and safety.
- Adhere to UNC Health Appalachian policies, regulatory requirements, and standards of behavior, practicing within the scope of your license.
- Work under general supervision while assisting coworkers, patients, and families within your scope of practice.
Qualifications
- Education:
- Graduate of an AMA-accredited radiologic technology education program; ARRT or CNMT registered.
- Experience:
- Six months of supervised clinical MRI scanning experience, and an Associate degree in an allied health field, or a Bachelor's degree and certification in another clinical field with six months of supervised clinical MRI scanning experience.
- Ability to complete the MRI orientation program.
- Licensure/Certifications:
- ARRT-MR required within 2 years of hire.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association required at time of hire.
- Skills & Abilities:
- Strong communication skills; ability to work within the chain of command using positive verbal and non-verbal techniques.
- Competence in delivering safe, effective patient care within the limits of license, certifications, and hospital policy.
- Knowledge of the continuum of care provided in the patient care department.
- Exceptional customer service for patients, families, staff, and physicians.
Physical & Work Environment
- Continuous standing and walking, often 8+ hours per shift; frequent bending, squatting, kneeling, twisting, turning, and reaching.
- Frequently lift, carry, push, or pull 50+ lbs, and frequently mobilize patients.
- Frequent hand, finger, and wrist repetition; near visual acuity and close eye work.
- Possible exposure to ionizing/nonionizing radiation (including x-ray and microwave).
- Regular exposure to bloodborne pathogens and hazards from electrical/mechanical equipment.
- Subject to irregular hours (days, evenings, nights, weekends, holidays); on-call required.
