We're looking for a talented and self-driven Insurance Claims Paralegal to join Bear River Mutual Insurance and assist in-house counsel in all stages of insurance claims.
As an Insurance Claims Paralegal, you'll support Bear River Mutual’s legal department in defending the company and its insureds against lawsuits stemming from personal injury and property damage claims. You'll prepare and organize legal documents and case materials, collect and summarize information and evidence, coordinate case activities, track important deadlines, and help ensure litigation matters are handled accurately and efficiently.
Experience in personal injury or insurance defense work is a priority, but any experience in a litigation practice will be considered.
This position is based in Murray, Utah and is an in-office position. At Bear River Mutual, we value in-person collaboration and believe some of our best work comes from working together, building relationships, and supporting one another.
What You'll Be Responsible For- Preparing, collecting, and summarizing information, data, and evidence for use in hearings or trials.
- Preparing legal documents, including pleadings, discovery requests, notices, and related materials.
- Issuing subpoenas and tracking responses to subpoenas and other records requests.
- Organizing case research, notes, medical records, legal documents, and client materials.
- Maintaining an accurate calendar with meetings, hearings, depositions, case deadlines, and related litigation activities.
- Communicating with clients, law firms, and courts to coordinate case activities.
- Verifying documents for accuracy.
- Editing and proofreading legal documents.
- Researching medical records, public records, and private records.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
In this role, you'll:
- Provide dependable legal support to in-house counsel throughout the insurance claims process.
- Help prepare accurate, organized, and complete materials for hearings, trials, discovery, and case management.
- Keep case information, medical records, legal documents, client materials, and deadlines well organized.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with clients, law firms, courts, attorneys, and internal team members.
- Manage details carefully, verify documents for accuracy, and help ensure legal work is completed on time.
- Work independently with a can-do attitude while contributing to a collaborative legal team.
