Position Summary:
The Foreman (nonunion) role plays a key role in overseeing field crew operations. The responsibility includes managing crews, maintaining records, ensuring crew safety, training employees, and communicating with field operations manager. This position will require travel to job sites and monitor all aspects of the job site while providing guidance to crews as needed. The responsibilities of this position play a key role in ensuring field operations are running efficiently.
Essential Functions:
- Consistently demonstrate commitment and support for the Sterling vision, mission, policies and procedures.
- Performs work in a safe manner in compliance with Sterling policies and procedures.
- In accordance with policies and procedures, wear the designated personal protective equipment (PPE) required.
- Supervise, schedule, and coordinate daily activities of employees and subcontractors on site.
- Ensure all personnel are adhering to all applicable company policies.
- Ensure Regulatory requirements are maintained.
- Maintain a safe and environmentally friendly workplace.
- Perform related work as required, directed or as situation dictates.
- Communicate with onsite contacts regarding necessary project information.
- Communicate scope changes to Project Manager prior to commencing additional work.
- Ensure a project is completed to acceptable standards.
- Properly complete and submit promptly job documents including Daily Work Tickets, Bills of Lading’s, Jobsite Analysis, Equipment Checklists, and Jobsite Photos.
- Promptly report incidents/accidents to Project Manager and Safety Coordinator.
- Ensure equipment maintenance.
- Maintain assigned truck, trailer, and equipment in optimal working condition.
- Identify and communicate issues regarding equipment or personnel with Superintendent and copy Project Manager.
- Maintain open communication with Project Manager and Safety Coordinator, relaying important site communication as needed.
- Ensure adherence to time schedules and safe work practices.
- All other duties and projects as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Highschool graduate, or GED is required.
- Must possess valid Driver’s License
- Must possess valid C.D.L. Class A; Or be able to obtain within 6 months.
- CPR/ First Aid preferred.
- OSHA 30 Hour preferred.
- Minimum of three (3) years construction experience.
- Ability to layout, direct, and supervise a construction project.
- Skilled in operating equipment safely and efficiently, providing guidance to field crew on safe operating practices.
- Ability to make minor repairs and adjustments to equipment operated.
- Ability to work safely and efficiently under high standards.
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal, speaking, and writing skills.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to interpret and work on instructions, plans, and sketches.
- Proficient in using Windows Operating System as well as Microsoft Office Applications
- Strong organization and attention to detail to maintain accurate records and time reports.
