Minimum Qualifications	High school diploma or equivalent, four years of locksmith experience, possession of a valid drivers license and maintenance of a driving record sufficient to maintain insurance coverage under the University of South Alabama, and successful completion of LENEL security system training within six months of employment. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Job Description Summary	The University of South Alabama’s Access Control department is seeking to hire a Security Systems Technician. Interested candidates should apply to be considered.

Essential Functions

These are the job duties required of the position.

Essential Functions	Installs and maintains mechanical and electronic access control systems. Ensures that all key requests and key returns are completed in compliance with the University’s Key Management policies and procedures. Replaces and re-keys locks and duplicates keys as needed. Assists with the distribution and retrieval of keys. Updates information to department key boxes. Reads and analyzes blueprints and visually inspects project sites. Coordinates mechanical access control and/or electronic access control systems for new and renovated facilities. Ensures all key issuance receipts and key return receipts are properly documented and entered into key management systems. Performs key audits. Utilizes a University vehicle to travel to various locations. Serves as essential personnel during University closings. Regular and prompt attendance. Ability to work schedule as defined and overtime as required. Related duties as required.
