Quality Engineer in Seattle, Washington at ABW Technologies

The Quality Engineer is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing the company’s nonconformance and corrective action programs. The Quality Engineer will report to the Director of Operations working closely with quality inspection, production, and other personnel. Experience in Root Cause Corrective Action and working with customer representatives and being hands on to support process improvement with key stakeholders. This position serves as a primary point of contact for quality-related issues originating from internal operations and customers, with particular emphasis on managing nonconformances and corrective actions through customer quality portals.

The Quality Engineer will work closely with Production, Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Customer Service to identify the root causes of quality issues, implement effective corrective actions, monitor their effectiveness, and prevent recurrence. The position will also support continuous improvement of quality systems, inspection processes, and manufacturing processes.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Quality Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field; equivalent experience may be considered.
• Experience with nonconformance and corrective action processes.
• Experience performing root-cause analysis and problem solving.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and customer requirements.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational and follow-up skills.
• Ability to manage multiple quality issues and customer deadlines simultaneously.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. Experience working directly with customer quality portals.
• Experience in aerospace, manufacturing, or other highly regulated manufacturing environments.
• Experience with AS9100, ISO 9001, or similar quality management systems.
• Experience with customer corrective action requirements.
• Experience with 8D, RCCA, CAPA, or similar corrective action methodologies.
• Experience with statistical analysis and quality tools.
• Experience developing quality dashboards and performance metrics.
• Internal Auditor or similar quality certification.
• Lean/Six Sigma experience or certification.
