ABOUT US
The West Side Federation for Senior and Supportive Housing, Inc. (WSFSSH) is a community-based organization responding to the need for low-cost housing. Our mission is to provide safe, affordable housing with supportive services within a residential setting that enhances the independence and dignity of each person. WSFSSH develops, manages, and provides social services in housing for low-income persons, especially those who are older, who have experienced homelessness and who live with mental illness.
Job Summary
Reporting to the Director of Information Technology, the IT Support Assistant will be responsible for assisting the Information Technology Department with general administrative and office support and IT technology support functions to further the overall technology needs of WSFSSH. This IT Support role will provide services that include several detailed tasks, including usage of administrative IT tools, in support of the IT team and WSFSSH staff across multiple locations.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Serve as liaison and point of contact between the IT department and internal and external stakeholders
• Support and facilitate interdepartmental communications
• Maintain accurate logs of company hardware, software licenses, and IT equipment inventory
• Assist with full IT Lifecycle asset management including procurement, inventory, management and disposal
• Assist with regular tracking of IT service requests and necessary follow-up
• Assist with monthly IT department expense reporting
• Assist with annual audit preparation for IT department
• Support IT team with IT Onboarding for WSFSSH staff including documentation, scheduling and other functions
• Organize and update internal technical wikis, onboarding guides, and IT policy compliance files
• Monitor office supplies and maintain adequate supply
• Manage the distribution, tracking, and reloading of OMNY transit passes for the IT field technicians and team members
• Comply fully with all WSFSSH confidentiality guidelines with discretion and integrity
• Attend WSFSSH team, and other staff meetings
• Travel between WSFSSH main office and other WSFSSH sites as needed.
• Assist with other duties as assigned
Required Knowledge Skills & Abilities
• Strong office/organizational skills capability to track multi-step purchase orders and complex hardware inventories
• Ability to translate technical updates into simple language for non-technical employees
• Ability to meet deadlines and adjust to changing priorities
• Ability to follow instructions and work autonomously, but also able to recognize when assistance is needed
• Ability to quickly gain new skills and knowledge when faced with new challenges
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work as part of a team; maintain composure and sense of humor in the face of heavy workload and/or other challenging situations.
• Able to show respect to other cultures and work in a culturally diverse environment
Required and Preferred Education, Experience and Credentials
• Bachelor’s degree required
• Microsoft windows desktop environment and MS Office productivity suite required
• Basic understanding of IT terminology, hardware components, and software setups
• Bilingual English/Spanish a plus
Physical Requirements
Physical demands include primarily required to sit, stand, walk, stoop, crawl, lean, bend, manage stairs for extended periods throughout multiple buildings. Must be able to maneuver in small spaces, kneel, crouch, climb ladders and ability to lift a minimum of 50+ lbs. or more as needed.
