Sustainment Project Engineer in Colorado Springs, Colorado at Jaxon Engineering and Maintenance

Jaxon is looking for a Sustainment Project Engineer to join our team in Colorado Springs, CO.

Salary: $85,000-$95,000 plus per diems while traveling

Schedule: Full-Time

Travel Requirement: While this role is primarily a position located in Colorado Springs, a Sustainment Project Engineer should be prepared to travel as needed. Travel expenses are paid by the company.

Security Clearance Requirement: This role requires the ability and willingness to obtain a Department of Defense Secret or Top-Secret Security Clearance.

Primary Duties:

• Produces accurate and complete schedules for all active and anticipated projects
• Develops project objectives by reviewing project proposals and plans and conferring with management
• Determines project responsibilities by identifying project phases and elements
• Determines project specifications by studying product design, customer requirements, and performance standards
• Coordinates with customers to communicate project status and minimize scope creep
• Reviews and delivers all project submittals
• Develop/maintain project logs & trackers such as procurement, customer deliverables, RFI’s and change management
• Prepares project status reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends

Required Job Qualifications:

• Understanding of and proficiency with plan reading, specifications, statements of work or request for proposals
• Experience coordinating project teams and schedules
• Proficient with MS Office suite and MS Project
• Willingness to be coached and learn new skills in a growing industry

Desired Job Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or two years of experience as a project engineer or similar role in a specifically related field such as Commercial/Industrial Construction, DoD contracting, EMP protection or Manufacturing.

Must have the ability or willingness to do the following:

• Obtain United States passport
• Use grinders, chop saws, drills, plasma cutters and both scissor lift & variable-reach forklifts
• Ability to bend over, kneel and crouch for long periods of time, & able to lift at least 50 lbs.
