POSITION SUMMARY:
CFG Bank’s 2027 Summer Internship Program offers Finance majors the opportunity to gain meaningful, real-world experience in the banking and financial services industry. This internship is designed for students who are interested in applying classroom knowledge to practical business situations while developing a deeper understanding of how financial institutions support clients, manage risk, evaluate opportunities, and drive strategic growth.
This program is ideal for students who are analytical, curious, detail-oriented, and eager to learn how finance concepts are applied in a fast-paced, relationship-driven business environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
About the Internship:
From day one, summer interns are immersed in CFG’s entrepreneurial and tenacious company culture, gaining hands-on experience through:
Comprehensive orientation and ongoing workshops to foster learning and development.
Meaningful work assignments that allow interns to apply finance, accounting, economics, and business concepts to real-world projects.
Career development opportunities with guidance from corporate leaders, including internship managers, senior mentors, and program coordinators.
Exposure to banking and financial services, including areas such as lending, credit analysis, loan operations, financial reporting, business strategy, and client-focused solutions.
A collaborative and supportive environment where interns are encouraged to ask questions, contribute ideas, and take ownership of their learning.
Professional development experiences focused on workplace etiquette, business communication, banking fundamentals, and technical skill-building.
General Responsibilities:
Finance Track interns may be responsible for:
Supporting team members with ongoing finance, banking, credit, lending, operational, or business-related tasks and projects.
Conducting research and present findings on financial, market, client, industry, or business information.
Assisting in preparing presentations, reports, summaries, and project materials.
Attending meetings, taking detailed notes, and summarizing key takeaways or follow-up items.
Supporting process improvement, documentation, or administrative tasks as needed.
Shadowing professionals across various departments to gain a broader understanding of CFG Bank and the banking industry.
Preparing and presenting a final project or reflection that highlights internship experience, key learnings, and professional growth.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Accounting, or related fields.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
Good organizational and time management skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and related software.
Eager to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
COMPENSATION DISCLOSURE:
In accordance with Maryland's Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, we are committed to providing transparent wage information for all posted job opportunities. The compensation for this position is $20.00 per hour. Compensation is determined based on factors such as qualifications, relevant experience, and internal equity.
BENEFITS AND ADDITIONAL COMPENSATION:
This is a part-time internship position. Interns are not eligible for employee benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability insurance, paid time off, retirement benefits, or bonus programs. Compensation is limited to the hourly wage listed above.
