Commercial Lender at John Marshall Bank – Washington, District of Columbia

John Marshall Bank is looking for an experienced Commercial Lender in the Washington, D.C. Market. This person would be responsible for business development and a designated portfolio of loan and deposit relationships with premier companies in the region. In this critical role, you will work closely with Regional Management to maintain and grow profitable relationships with these companies, and will also represent the Bank in the community at high profile events.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Service customers seeking loan and/or deposit relationships with the bank. Interview applicants to develop information concerning their businesses and requirements, evaluate credit information and make relationship recommendations.
• Maximize the department’s profitability through the maintenance of a high quality loan portfolio. Follow current loans to ensure conformity with terms; maintain current and complete credit file.
• Ability to work independently with high motivation to achieve goals with minimal supervision.
• Perform as a team member and complete any other job-related duties as assigned.
• Follow market trends and developments to increase the bank’s business in established and developing markets.
• Represent the bank in civic and community activities.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree

At least 5 years of commercial portfolio management and related experience

At least 2 years of Commercial Banking experience in Washington DC

Strong experience and knowledge of financial analysis and banking credit principles

Preferred Qualifications:

2 years of experience as a Senior Level Commercial Lender with a financial institution

Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to sell effectively to prospects, clients, managers and peers

Excellent presentation skills

Proven ability to exceed sales goals

The projected wage range for this role is $135,000-$175,000, commensurate with skillset.
