Job Description

Account Manager, Data Sales

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Account Manager, Data Sales based in the United States.

This is a hands-on account management role supporting enterprise, institutional, and research customers using data products and services.
You will own the post-sale customer experience, from onboarding and trials through renewals, support, and expansion.
The role combines customer success, technical data operations, commercial execution, and cross-functional collaboration.
You will work closely with Sales, Engineering, Product, Finance, and Legal to ensure customers receive reliable data and responsive support.
You will also help identify opportunities to develop and commercialize new datasets and AI-enhanced data products.
Success requires strong ownership, operational discipline, technical fluency, and the ability to turn customer needs into actionable solutions.
This is an opportunity to help build scalable processes in a fast-moving, remote environment at the intersection of data, technology, and financial markets.

Accountabilities
  • Own day-to-day relationships with enterprise, institutional, and research data customers, serving as their primary post-sale point of contact.
  • Manage customer onboarding, data access, trials, ongoing support, requests, and follow-up activities while maintaining a clear understanding of use cases, stakeholders, contract scope, and success criteria.
  • Establish regular customer communication, proactively identify risks and concerns, and surface opportunities for account expansion.
  • Coordinate internal escalations across Engineering, Data, Product, Finance, Legal, and Sales, keeping customers informed through resolution.
  • Monitor data feeds, APIs, and other delivery channels for uptime, gaps, delays, quality issues, or unexpected behavior.
  • Establish dashboards, alerts, procedures, and documentation to identify and address data-delivery problems proactively.
  • Coordinate technical investigations with Engineering and Data teams and own customer-facing incident communication and follow-up.
  • Maintain records of incidents, resolutions, customer requests, and troubleshooting procedures, contributing to customer-facing documentation and internal knowledge bases.
  • Coordinate paid trials, order forms, access permissions, usage terms, renewal activities, amendments, and pricing discussions.
  • Maintain accurate calendars covering renewal dates, notice periods, pricing changes, contractual commitments, and expansion opportunities.
  • Ensure customer use cases and requests remain aligned with contractual permissions, coordinating with Finance and Legal when new terms or usage rights are required.
  • Translate customer feedback and commercial requests into clear product and data requirements.
  • Help identify, validate, and launch new monetizable datasets and AI-enhanced data products, including coordinating customer pilots and gathering structured feedback.
  • Analyze recurring customer requests to identify broader product opportunities and support sales materials, product documentation, and use-case development.
  • Maintain accurate account plans, contact records, support histories, contract information, and revenue opportunities.
  • Produce concise reporting on account health, data-feed performance, renewals, risks, opportunities, and next actions.
  • Build repeatable workflows that improve operational efficiency and reduce reliance on senior leadership for routine execution.
  • Support growth leadership and data sales activities through customer preparation, follow-ups, account planning, and execution.
Requirements
  • 3–7 years of experience in B2B account management, product management, customer success, data partnerships, or a related field.
  • Experience supporting enterprise customers using APIs, data feeds, analytics products, or other technical services.
  • Sufficient technical fluency to understand data-delivery workflows, investigate issues, and communicate effectively with engineering and technical teams.
  • Experience managing trials, renewals, order forms, pricing discussions, contractual commitments, and account expansions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical issues and solutions clearly to customers.
  • Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to operational, contractual, and customer details.
  • Proactive, ownership-oriented approach with the ability to identify problems, coordinate stakeholders, and drive issues through resolution.
  • Strong ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain execution in a fast-moving environment with evolving processes.
  • Comfortable collaborating across teams and time zones while maintaining reliable customer coverage.
  • Experience with financial data, market data, alternative data, fintech, or institutional financial-services customers is preferred.
  • Familiarity with API monitoring, data-quality controls, incident management, service-level reporting, or related operational practices is a plus.
  • Experience helping commercialize new datasets, data-driven products, or technology-enabled services is advantageous.
  • Exposure to hedge funds, financial institutions, corporate data users, or academic researchers is a plus.
Benefits
  • Competitive salary.
  • Unlimited paid time off and sick leave.
  • Remote-work flexibility.
  • Fully paid comprehensive medical, dental, and vision healthcare coverage for U.S.-based employees.
  • 401(k) plan with company matching of up to 4% for U.S.-based employees.
  • Generous work-from-home stipend for U.S.-based employees.
  • Opportunity to work with enterprise, institutional, and research customers at the intersection of financial markets, data, and technology.
  • Remote-first environment with meaningful collaboration across teams and time zones.
  • Inclusive workplace committed to diversity, equal opportunity, and bringing together people with varied backgrounds, perspectives, and skills.
  • Working hours should provide meaningful overlap with U.S. business hours.
