Position Summary:
TheUniversity of New Mexico-Health Sciences Center is seeking a Financial Aid Officerwith strong interpersonal, organizational, and multitasking skills. The Financial Aid Officer will work with adiverse student population, approximately 1000 students within the academicprograms in the School of Medicine, in assisting students in obtaining Federal,State, and Institutional financial aid.
Within a centralized, HSC financial aidservices environment, evaluates, approves, and awards financial aid to studentsin accordance with federal, state, and university regulations, policies, andoperating guidelines. Assesses financial needs of students, and advisesstudents and parents regarding financial aid options, processes, andrequirements. Evaluates student academic progress, and adjudicates academicprogress appeals. Participates as appropriate in systems/procedures planningand management; implements and coordinates specific individual programs and/orassignments, in accordance with the overall objectives of the department.
