Schedule: Monday – Friday | 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM
Pay Range: $31–$33 per hour

Superior Skilled Trades is partnered with a company seeking an experienced Foreman to lead field operations on heavy civil construction, mining, and site development projects. This role is responsible for overseeing daily crew activities, maintaining safety and quality standards, coordinating equipment operations, and ensuring production goals are met on schedule and within project requirements.
The ideal candidate will have strong leadership abilities, extensive heavy equipment knowledge, GPS grading experience, and a commitment to fostering a safe and productive work environment.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and direct field crews on assigned construction and mining projects
- Ensure all work is performed in compliance with OSHA/MSHA regulations and company safety policies
- Promote and uphold a strong safety culture throughout all project activities
- Operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently, including dozers, excavators, graders, compactors, loaders, and related equipment
- Read and interpret engineered drawings, grading plans, and site layouts
- Perform field layout and staking activities
- Setup and manage GPS base stations and GPS-guided equipment systems
- Conduct Job Safety Analyses (JSA), toolbox talks, and daily safety meetings
- Monitor production goals and proactively address operational challenges or delays
- Coordinate daily jobsite activities to maintain schedules and project milestones
- Perform workplace inspections and ensure deficiencies are corrected promptly
- Maintain erosion control measures and monitor site conditions
- Complete and submit daily reports including fuel logs, equipment hours, load counts, and inspection documentation
- Perform routine preventative maintenance and minor emergency repairs on equipment
- Maintain equipment, fuel inventory, tools, trailers, and company vehicles in accordance with company standards
- Ensure jobsites remain clean, organized, and prepared for changing weather conditions
- Communicate effectively with management, crews, subcontractors, and clients
- Previous experience as a Foreman in heavy civil construction, mining, earthwork, or site development
- Strong knowledge of grading, excavation, utility installation, road construction, and site preparation
- Experience operating and overseeing heavy equipment operations
- Ability to read construction drawings, grade stakes, and engineered plans
- Experience with GPS machine control and survey equipment preferred
- Knowledge of OSHA/MSHA safety standards and best practices
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in fast-paced outdoor environments and adapt to changing priorities
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Valid driver’s license with fewer than three moving violations within the past three years
- Ability to pass pre-employment and ongoing drug/alcohol screenings
- Ability to lift at least 40 pounds
- Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather and field conditions
- Ability to travel to project sites as needed
- MSHA or OSHA certifications
- GPS grading and machine control experience
- Equipment troubleshooting and maintenance knowledge
- Bilingual English/Spanish communication skills are a plus
