The Operations Manager is responsible for providing leadership and systems to efficiently operate all production, as well as provide support towards corporate initiatives. In this role, the Operations Manager will work toward continuously improving all processes focusing on the elimination of non-value add operations and waste in the supply chain while working with other departments as necessary to support these goals. Responsibility for Managing Production Value Stream team, Production Supervisors, and other assigned teams.
This position, as well as others in the facility, must promote plant wide safety and housekeeping, and follow established guidelines for visual management.
Requirements:- Using Lean Tools and 5S: Provide a clean and safe work environment and understand compliance with occupational safety and health procedures.
- Prepare presentations and work with the customer during visits to promote new business, pitch cost savings initiatives or corrective action activity.
· Fully support new product launches and may lead certain aspects of the launch process to ensure on-time, defect free launches.
· Monitor process and overall productivity; establishes corrective actions with support services to solve equipment, scrap, rate or quality deficiencies.
- Determine labor requirements needed to meet customer demand and stay within budget.
- Plan, organize and communicate the work structure, assignments, schedules and responsibilities necessary to ensure that production plans are met.
- Monitor the plant’s performance and take necessary actions to resolve manufacturing problems.
- Work with engineering, quality, and maintenance to set priorities for support functions.
- Communicate and align employees with organization goals: develops employees through guidance and training; works to maintain a positive work environment.
- Identify opportunities for improvement and take steps to implement continuous improvement.
· Achieve established budget through continuous improvement, waste reduction, managing labor and MRO spending and ensuring productivity targets are achieved.
· Participate on product launch and APQP teams.
- Active participant in Continuous Improvement projects.
- Support materials management function through execution of the daily production schedules and ship plans, provide guidance and leadership to the Production Control Coordinator in development of production schedules and inventory management.
- Required to follow any other instructions and to perform any other duties upon request of the supervisor
- Comply with the following OSHA Safety Standards: Hazard Communication; Bloodborne Pathogens; Lockout; Permit Required Confined Space; Hot Work Permit; Powered Industrial Trucks; P.P.E. and Ergonomics
- When necessary, participate in classes and training seminars to learn new technologies and techniques deemed helpful to performance on the job
Supervisory Responsibilities
Manages the activities of Production Staff and all Value Stream production employees.
Academic/Educational Requirements
· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
· 5-10 years of operations experience

Working Conditions
45 hours per week
In office, Production area as required.
Monday to Friday
Please note: All schedules and changes to working hours must be approved by the department manager. Schedule is subject to change based on discretion of department manager.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand and walk, bend, use hands or fingers, handle or feel objects, tools or controls and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move 20 or more pounds. The position requires the ability to maintain a professional attitude in a fast paced environment.
