We are seeking a dedicated Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our Cardiology team. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced, patient-focused environment providing comprehensive cardiology support across multiple service areas within ECMC. Responsibilities include coverage of outpatient cardiology clinic, inpatient consult services, stress lab operations, and limited daytime call coverage. The selected provider will have flexibility to float between cardiology services across the organization while collaborating closely with physicians and multidisciplinary care teams to deliver high-quality, compassionate care.

🏥 Department: Cardiology. Coverage includes outpatient and inpatient cardiology services
🕒 Shift: Full-Time | Monday–Friday, Daytime hours.
☎️ Call Requirement: Limited daytime call coverage only, shared on a rotating schedule with other providers
Job Duties
Conduct comprehensive history and physical examinations in both outpatient and inpatient cardiology settings, utilizing critical thinking to assess, diagnose, and manage acute and chronic cardiovascular conditions.
Provide cardiology support across multiple service areas including outpatient clinic coverage, inpatient consult services, stress lab operations, and daytime call coverage.
Develop and manage individualized treatment plans, including prescribing medications and recommending therapies based on current clinical guidelines and patient-specific factors.
Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests as appropriate, integrating results into clinical decision-making and care plans.
Deliver compassionate, patient- and family-centered care by providing education on cardiovascular health maintenance, disease prevention, and chronic disease management.
Coordinate and manage follow-up care, respond to patient concerns between visits, and facilitate timely referrals to specialists or community resources to support comprehensive care.
Ensure accurate, timely documentation of patient visits, care plans, and clinical outcomes in the electronic medical record (EMR).
Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, technologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure continuity and quality of care across the patient’s healthcare journey.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to clinic protocols that enhance patient safety, satisfaction, and health outcomes.
Maintain ongoing professional development by engaging in continuing education and staying current with evidence-based cardiology practice and clinical advancements.
Benefits: We offer a competitive salary and benefits package. The hiring range is between $120,000 to $149,000 per year. Qualifications
Education:
- Master's degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program
- Current license to practice as a Physician Assistant (PA) by the New York State of New York
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification, required within 90 days of service
Experience:
- Cardiology and/or outpatient experience, preferred. New graduates may be considered
- Experience in inpatient and outpatient clinical settings, preferred
Skills & Competencies:
- Comprehensive knowledge of medical terminology, clinical procedures, and patient care techniques
- Strong clinical skills in assessing, diagnosing, and treating a wide range of medical conditions
- Proficiency in Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and other healthcare technology
- Critical thinking, time management, strong communication, problem-solving, and ability to handle various clinical situations.
