Job Description
The Warehouse Manager is responsible for overseeing daily warehouse operations, ensuring efficient product flow, inventory accuracy, operational safety, and team productivity. This role provides leadership to warehouse personnel while supporting inventory management, workforce planning, and operational execution to meet branch and customer needs.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, inventory management, order fulfillment, shipping, and product movement.
- Lead, train, coach, and develop warehouse team members through hiring, onboarding, scheduling, and performance management.
- Maintain a safe, organized, and productive warehouse environment while ensuring compliance with company policies and safety standards.
- Monitor inventory accuracy through cycle counts, audits, and inventory reconciliation activities.
- Identify and resolve inventory discrepancies, operational challenges, and workflow inefficiencies.
- Implement processes that improve productivity, accuracy, and operational efficiency.
- Coordinate with purchasing, sales, logistics, and branch leadership to ensure product availability and customer satisfaction.
- Monitor warehouse performance metrics and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Ensure proper operation and maintenance of warehouse equipment and facilities.
- Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, continuous improvement, and safety.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 3+ years of warehouse, manufacturing, logistics, distribution, or related operational experience.
- Previous warehouse management, supervisory, or team leadership experience.
- Strong knowledge of inventory management, warehouse operations, and workflow coordination.
- Ability to lead teams, manage performance, and maintain safety standards.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel and Outlook.
- Forklift certification or forklift operating experience preferred.
- Experience with inventory management systems, WMS, or related software preferred.
- Experience in building materials, manufacturing, distribution, or construction supply industries preferred.
